Summary

Allow eviction plugins to report pressure for individual CNR topology zones and configure reclaimed-cgroup memory suppression eviction through AdminQoSConfiguration.

  • Add Condition.zone_taints, TopologyZoneRef, and TopologyZoneTaint to carry ordered topology paths, condition names, QoS levels, effects, and pressure states.
  • Add optional memorySuppressionEvictionConfig fields for enablement, high/max event thresholds, observation window, and required pressure fraction.
  • Preserve existing protobuf field numbers and distinguish omitted configuration fields from explicit false and 0.
  • Regenerate protobuf bindings, deep-copy code, and the AQC CRD.

High/max thresholds are expressed as events per 10 seconds and normalized by the actual sampling interval. Zero disables the corresponding signal. The required pressure fraction is in (0, 1]; omitted fields retain the consumer's startup configuration.

Validation

Passed locally:

  • go test -gcflags=all=-l -race -count=1 ./pkg/apis/config/v1alpha1 ./pkg/protocol/evictionplugin/v1alpha1
  • go vet ./pkg/apis/config/v1alpha1

Tests cover protocol wire round trips, JSON round trips, omitted fields, explicit false/zero values, and deep-copy isolation.

English

  • Added Condition.zone_taints to the eviction-plugin protobuf API. TopologyZoneRef describes each item in a topology path, and TopologyZoneTaint carries the condition, QoS level, effect, and pressure state for that path. Existing Condition field numbers remain unchanged; the new field uses number 5.
  • Added optional BEMemorySuppressionEvictionConfig to EvictionConfig. It exposes enablement, high and max event thresholds, an observation window, and a required pressure fraction. Pointer fields preserve the distinction between omitted values and explicit false or 0. Thresholds are specified per ten seconds and normalized for the sample interval; zero disables the corresponding signal.
  • Regenerated the protobuf bindings, deepcopy code, and AQC CRD. The changes add API surface; they are not documentation-only or generated-only.
  • Downstream eviction-plugin consumers can use zone-level taints. Consumers that support reclaimed-cgroup memory suppression can read the new AQC fields and should preserve omitted values as unset. The author reports that package tests and go vet passed locally; no independent test run is provided here.

🗄️ Data Integrity & Integration | 🟠 Major | ⚡ Quick win

Expose the contracted JSON field name.

When a manifest or client uses spec.evictionConfig.memorySuppressionEvictionConfig, the field does not bind because EvictionConfig declares the JSON tag as beMemorySuppressionEvictionConfig. The generated CRD exposes only the be... property, so the intended key cannot configure this feature.

Regenerate the AQC CRD after this change.
