This repository provides an IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS) journal template and a matching author-response template for use with LaTeX and VS Code (optional).
Additional paper templates may be added in the future. Currently available:
-
ral: IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters (RA-L)
bare_jrnl_new_sample4.tex: journal manuscript example and main file.response.tex: main author-response file; compile this file for the response PDF.reviews/round1/response.tex: editable responses for review round 1; do not compile it directly.references.bib: shared bibliography for the manuscript and response.IEEEtran.cls: IEEE document class..vscode/settings.json: LaTeX Workshop recipes and workspace settings.CleanFiles.bat/CleanFiles.sh: auxiliary-file cleanup scripts.
From the repository root, run:
latexmk -pdf bare_jrnl_new_sample4.texCompile the journal first so that its PDF, labels, page numbers, and citation numbers are available. Then run:
latexmk -pdf response.texThe response imports reviews/round1/response.tex and appends the compiled journal PDF automatically.
% Journal citation and label
\cite{floreano2015science}
\label{sec:introduction}
% Response: references imported from the journal
Section~\ref{ms:sec:introduction}
\cite{floreano2015science}
% Response-local reference and response-only bibliography entry
Equation~\ref{eq:response-example}
\citeR{zhao2023versatile}Install the LaTeX Workshop extension. Open the desired main file (bare_jrnl_new_sample4.tex or response.tex) and run LaTeX Workshop: Build with recipe, selecting LaTeXmk. Automatic building is disabled in the workspace settings.
Run the appropriate script from the repository root:
# Windows
.\CleanFiles.bat# Linux / Ubuntu
bash CleanFiles.shThese scripts recursively remove LaTeX auxiliary files while retaining source files and PDFs.
IEEEtran.cls declares version V1.8b (2015/08/26). The journal package was obtained from the IEEE Template Selector using:
Transactions, Journals and Letters → IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters → Original Research and Brief → LaTeX.
